When is the WV Strawberry Festival held? 2023 dates will be the 3rd week in May.

How do I get there? We are located in the center of the state in Buckhannon, WV.

What can I experience at the festival? We have always been known as “An Exciting Family Tradition.” We have 8 fun-filled days of events for all ages. From 4 different parades, an arts & craft show, and food vendors selling every strawberry dessert imaginable, you’re sure to have a blast! And don’t forget the carnival is here all week!

What should I bring with me? A good pair of walking shoes and an appetite for strawberry desserts is your best bet! The weather is usually warm & sunny, so sunscreen is also a good idea. And, if you’re planning to watch the parades, pack a lawn chair.

What does the festival cost? There is NO entrance fee. Money is only needed for the carnival (prices are finalized in May), the food you eat and the gifts you purchase in our local specialty shops!

What should I do about parking? There is parking available as you enter town including street parking and at WV Wesleyan College. Bus parking is available at local churches and WV Wesleyan College.

What attractions are nearby? WV Wildlife Center at French Creek, Ron Hinkle Glass, Stonewall Resort, State 4 – H Camp, Stonewall Jackson Paddle Boat, Cass Railroad, Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum, Mountain Rail and lots more. Visit the Upshur County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau for additional information.

Where can I stay during the festival? Check out our Visitors Center website for a list of hotels, motels and bed & breakfast inns.

Where can I eat? There are food vendors set up throughout downtown Buckhannon, along with local churches and locally owned restaurants.

I want to be an exhibitor. What do I do first? What kind of exhibitor are you? (Arts & Crafts, Food Vendor, Professional Display Unit, etc.) We have different types of exhibitors set up all around town. Please call the Festival Office (304-472-9036) or Email us with your name, contact information, and your exhibitor category. A Strawberry Festival member will contact you as soon as possible.

I want to compete in an event. What do I need to know? We have a lot of events during the WV Strawberry Festival! (i.e. Strawberry Run, Band Competition, Diaper Derby, Canoe Race, Road Bowling) Please call the Festival Office (304-472-9036) or Email us with your name, contact information, and which event you’re interested in. A Strawberry Festival member will contact you as soon as possible.

I’d like to donate/sponsor an event. Who do I talk to? Thanks for your support! Please email: [email protected]. We will be more than happy to accept all donations of any kind.
